Q. Do I need an appointment to come in and choose a gravespace before someone passes?

    A. Yes, you need an appointment to sit down with our family coordinators. During that time, you will go over pricing and your personal needs, Whether it is cremation burial or full (casket) burial.

Q. What is a pre-need?

    A. A pre-need is the purchase of the gravespace and all the burial costs before your loved passes. 

Q. Do you take payments for services or pre-needs?

    A. No, the Clovis Cemetery District does not take payments for services from any  life insurance companies. The cemetery district also does not fianace any pre-needs. If your loved one has passed, full payment is due 72 hours before your service date. You can pay with cash, check or credit card. **American Express is not taken. 

Q.  What do I do first once my family member passes? 

    A. Whether cremation or full (casket) burial, you would contact a local funeral home. Once you meet with the funeral home, they will contact us to set your service date & time and set your appointment at the cemetery to pick out your grave space if you do not already have one. 

Q. What qualifies a non-resident to be buried at one of the district cemeteries?

     A. If you don't live within the district boundary lines, you can qualify one of two ways. 

            1. Have an immediate family member buried already at one of our cemeteries.

            2. Have an immediate family living within the district boundaries.

     ** If you qualify one of these two ways, there is a one time non-resident fee per person that is applied onto your gravespace and burial costs. 

Q. How long does it take to set a headstone?

     A. Once the cemetery district receives your headstone from the monument dealer you chose to do business with, it is roughly 4-6 weeks for installation. 

Q. Can I be present to watch my loved ones headstone be set? 

     A. No, the district does not allow anyone to be present at the time your loved ones headstone is set due to liablity reasons.

Q. What time does the cemetery close? 

     A. The Clovis & Academy cemeteries do not close either drive-in or walk-in gates, except after business hours on Halloween. Redbanks, Auberry & Tollhouse cemeteries the drive-in gates are always closed except for services, the walk-in gates do not close.  You are allowed to be on our properties from sun up to sun down daily. 

Q. Are the office hours the same as the cemetery hours?

     A. No. The office hours are: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and closed for lunch 12:00 p.m.-1:00p.m. The office is not open on weekends.
